Disappointed

For the forum members

I have been reading posts of recent and I have to say I am disappointed. I really come to the forum cause I love bikes, I love Ducati, I use this forum for knowledge, experience, and to get ideas for little projects that I can manage, (either skill wise, or financially). I truly live vicariously through many of you guys and think many are luckier than myself to have the time and money to dedicate to track riding.

These days most of what I read is how "stupid one owner is", or "this guy doesn't know WTF he's doing", or "look how smart I am compared to you" things along this line.

I really appreciate everyone's thoughts and experiences here. I try not to post quick shitty comments, though that's how my New York mind works 90% of the time. Instead I realize that this is a forum and the unspoken agreement is respect.

While I don't think most here are inherently bad I feel people need to work on their presentations with there thoughts and try not to lose their ideas in the way they demonstrate them.

Don't get me wrong I don't feel we need to all take our shirts off and hug, (unless your a female rider in which please post pics as proof...lol). However, I really have seen some really valid point and information just get lost in the tsunami of shit that gets spread here.

please, as this is one of the only forums I belong to and check daily. After my shoulder surgery this September I hope to race for one more season before just becoming a track day bum. I will really need help from time to time and I just don't want that help to get lost in translation.

Thanks for listening.

Forums have sadly gone from informative and group of like minded people to trolls and bullshit.

Not just one but nearly all of them

Thamer, You have been around a long time like me. I have read a lot of your posts over the years and value your input. But sometimes a little banter is good, I'm not a big fan of the liberal myopic snowflake board that has no offensiveness to it. I enjoyed the back and forth with Mr. "You don't know how much money I have" yesterday, but at the end of the day I hold no ill will. Most of it is funny as long as its not actually personal.

I respect this and will try and tone down my foolishness to a moderate level and only dwell on my currently missing a exhaust bolt red princess.

NOLA...
Thanks from Thamer

Thamer: you can't take any of this seriously. it's just fun and (mind)games.

at least the forum asshat m'tard has toned it down a lot.

perhaps a poll on what the 1299sl *should* have msrp'ed at would have solved some of the shitshow in the other thread; for eg
1. $85k msrp is fair
2. $75k still too much
3. $65k like the last iteration sl
4. $55k just because.....
5. ducati should have just gifted the worst forum shit-talkers a 1299sl
6. screw it, i can build my better sl for pennies on dollar
7. on your knees
8. etc.

i dont know......

this forum reminds me also a little of this:

It's really just a clean up from my shoulder being reconstructed last year. Now we just have to clear the excess scar tissue. Hopefully I'll only be out 3 weeks.

Thanks for the well wishes.

I don't mind the banter, but I do wish there were more tech related topics. If you took away the latest limited model and upcoming V4 posts, there wouldn't be much left of the forum. I miss the build threads, parts reviews, etc.. YoungR's "What did you do for your Panigale" thread is probably the best thing we have going for us at the moment.
Thanks from Phl, Thamer and loki99er

Guilty as charged. I completely accept that I am the instigator of the barrage of flack. It's not intended that way. I suffer from extreme OCD and ADHD. I can't do the group hug thing. The problem is a simple one. There simply are way more outlets for "normal people" than there are for the fucking awkward like myself. I do converse quite politely and eloquently offline with many here who tread water in that space. There are not many like Rogue, Gecko, Zohsix01 etc (I know I left a lot of people out of that list. Brain fog,)who are really into things that are past the scope of most chat board members. That's not to say that there are many here that are much more advanced than others definitely me included in other areas. The point is and Rogue hit it on the head. When someone isn't posting some new unobtainium or Mark isn't schooling the Rossi fans, this place is ghost town full of slews of repeat subject matter, feel good stories, and advice about how to fix your bike from guys who don't know how to fix your bike. I made a suggestion for a dare I say it "segregated" space where the amped up, weirdo's
Could congregate about their mad science projects without upsetting the the rest of the guys on the Dr Phil show. Most of the heavy hitter tech guys do not come here to share anything. There isn't anything here for them. Sorry for the personal attacks. It's frustrating but it shouldn't be. It's a free chat board. You get what you pay for. I'll from now on keep all the "snobbish" new stuff off the board and confine it to personal correspondence.

I'm not pointing fingers at anyone. I enjoy the sarcasm and quick wittedness of this group. I think we have a lot of people with great info to share I just feel it gets lost with the "my penis is mightier than yours" commentary. That's why I miss Wilks. Straight forward talk from experience, with the undertones of sarcasm to make it interesting.
