Just got my 1299 base last week and already bought parts to modify the bike.. First to go after the bike reached home were the side mirrors and tail section... This week I will be installing tall DP bubble, reservoir wristband covers, bonamici side mirror caps, quick release fuel cap and reverse rearsets, fullsix carbon fiber front and rear fenders, storm and DP tankpads, Marchesini Kompe alloy wheels and SC1 slicks for this weekend trackday... Next up when I'm more comfortable with the bike will be the termigs undertail system, fullsix carbon fiber belly cover, 14/39 sprocket change and DP GPS sensor... Last probably a nice track fairing and more carbon fiber bits

Whether your goals are performance or cosmetic, I'd appreciate hearing what order you did (or will do) your upgrades.

So far I've done:

1. Tail tidy/rear turn signals (done by dealer before pickup)
2. Tinted windscreen (zero gravity)
3. Tank grips (stompgrip)
4. Clear clutch cover/pressure plate/spring retainer (ducabike)
5. bar ends (ducati) installing this weekend
6. Gas cap (rizoma) installing this weekend
7. Upper/lower radiator guards (Evotech) on order
8. Black windscreen nuts (from china) on order
9+: debating between front/rear sprockets, race seat, rear sets, brake/clutch levers, slip on (or full exhaust)/tune...

NO matter what you add to the bike remember the dealer will not give you one dime more for it on a trade in.. Do it for yourself... It is fun to dress it up but I prefer performance items versus bling bling...

I have spent a small fortune on exhaust Rapid Bike countless times in the shop etc etc. Trying to just make mine run well and not stall or buck and kick when I ride it..

You can spend $10K easily on the 1299 and have a lot of fun.. Just remember you will be in the same situation I am when you try to trade it in..

If you want to see how well the bike holds its value just go into a Ducati dealer and see how much they offer you for it when it is just 6 months old LOL... Figure losing about 45 to 50%

Own it.... Enjoy it...! However don't expect to get much more out of it( even selling it to an individual) unless they have a lot of cash to put down or can just pay cash for it, because the trade in value is the same on the NADA/Kelley book and that is what the lending institutions will use when basing a loan.

Speedy why did you have to bring us back to reality?
We all think the things are worth a fortune now we have modded them.

lol.

Yeah, I think it goes without saying that modifications aren't smart investments.
