Doesn't matter if you ride alot its a known faulty part and its a c*nt to replace.

Mine split too, but the part was on the shelf, I had to wait for space in the workshop. Took about 2.5 hours. I also had a small leak after the fix. I assumed it was coolant laying in the fairings or a pool somewhere, but I was told that does happen and after you've ran it up to temp it sets/seals and it will be fine. Sure enough, no more leak

Great point, I agree with you there for sure. I was just thinking in terms that those who don't ride a lot may just live with the leak as I have. My R barely has 1200 miles her .
