Same..
I will be returning stateside in April and I was anticipating the V4.

Since I'm not really hooked on the overall design I think I will be hoping to get a '17 1299 S with sub 5k miles for around 16 or so.

Not that I would ever do such a thing, but if I could find one at $16k and possibly fix the price a little on the title transfer I'd be looking at $12-13k/45% in savings compared to a V4S @ $27k + full tax + delivery costs etc.

I'm still hoping the 1299's will start going down a little once we get closer to launch and start seeing the V4 out and about.

Why would people want to sell their current bike 6 months before they are getting a new bike? I suspect most people who are swapping an 1199/1299 for a V4 will be trading their current bike in.

This I can tell you, today is the first day we've been open at our store since the release on Sunday and the phone has been ringing off the hook all morning, and every call is about the V4.

And also some will think the sky will fall in because of the new model, so get in early before the rush.

There are 1199 base selling for less than a 899 now.

I Ride: All of them
I bought the 1299 because I figure at 40 years old I will never need to buy another track bike after this. No way will I ever be able to use it to its full potential and it should age pretty well.

As for street bikes.......... that's another story but I have no desire to own a full on sport bike for the street anymore. I could dig a new Ducati STV4 though. One can dream right?
