unusual water leak 1299

I have found coolant leaking from the left side of my bike, it seems its coming from a small grub screw (allen head) just below the weep hole many refer to in water pump issues? I am not schooled enuff to up load pics with my current PC, but a search on this forum suggests that this was / is a common problem? yet despite reading as much as I could find I was unable to reach a conclusion on the fix?

One member said just turn the grub screw in a quarter of a turn? but Im concerned that if the grub screw in question is tapered it could crack the casing?

Any ideas?

and yes before you all bleat about what a dick I am Im enjoying the feel good shit and the character building challenges owning a 1299 is all about

It won't be coming from the Allen screw, its either water pump weep hole or thermostat housing above.

I also have a collent leak on my 2017 1299s.

shop tightened the lower hose clamp but it was not the problem, I think in may case its from the top of the thermostat (top hoses or the thermostat itself its made from 2 pieces I suspect its from there),/

bike gets back to the shop on the 20th...
Thanks from Captain Greg

I will get mine back by Friday, it seems the coolant sender or part of the housing that holds the top pipe has two o rings, they have found that on bikes they have worked on before that these o rings are undersise.
They say it's a quick fix

I will report the facts as soon as they are known, as for the comments on other threads the grub screw is not relevant to coolant in any way, and is in fact an oil passage but the dried coolant collects in that area.

Leak is still with us, not sure of what O rings, it goes back again on Monday let me report after the dealer opens it again.

And the dealer just wants my deposit for a V 4.......

It's 1 of 2 possibilities:

The thermostat housing or the water pump, a common & easy fix

Thanks for the comment, please can you add some details, the issue we have is that our dealer does not have a dyno, and cannot rev the bike or make it work hard.
They run it up to temp and let it cool, in that simulation it does not leak, however on the road when I give it gas and I ride it say above 8-9000rom and hammer it through the gears after that when it cools I get the dribble in the thermostat area.

If the dealer had a dyno they could work it hard with no risk of damage and then be better equipped to attend the fault.
As it is the ongoing issues with my new1299 that is more a garage queen than superbike is making it real hard for me to place an order for a V4, my concern is if they are unable to repair a bike that has been out for almost 4 years from date of first production could they even attempt to fuk with the more complex and less seen V4.

Please guide me in order that I guide them to fix the thing, I'm getting very tired of the problem.
