Anyone know what this screw goes to?

So I came outside to find my 1299 laying on its side. Looks like someone bumped it and it fell over. I have frame sliders so didn't look like there was any real damage until I picked her up. What I found was a screw, nut, and a piece of the frame that was broken off. If you look at the picture it was number 5 and 6 along with the little housing it bolts to. Can anyone tell me what it's for or how screwed I am? Online it says it's the yoke limit screw, but I can't really tell its function.

That's the steering stop that is cast into the top of the lower triple clamp. Yes, you're screwed, that is not repairable, it has to be replaced with a new lower triple clamp/steering stem unit.

GOOD NEWS - I know where you can get a used one! ;-)

I wished I would have asked on here if any one had a used one. I just ordered a new one last week. I saw my steering stop was broken off when I was strapping my bike down after the track. Not even sure when it happened.

You can ride it, just don't do any tank slappers on your way. I have been riding mine and not sure when it broke off before I realized it.

The cost is about 600 bucks for a tree(yoke). Costs more to have a dealer install though.
Make sure you don't extend the handlebars too far in the direction that it broke or you WILL damage your fairing, tank, or both, with the over extended handlebars.

I remember you can buy some little accessories that stops this happening

Always meant to get some but never did, cheaper than a new part though
