Suggestion 1299S <-> V4

Hey guys,

I'm currently deciding between a 1299S with arround 500km and a new V4 Standard.

I enjoyed both bikes while i feel that the 1299S is more emotional the V4 feels easier to ride.
Based on looks i prefer the rear from V4 but front from 1299 so also no winner there.

I'd be happy if someone with experience from the Ducati world could give some pointers

By the way i'm coming from the S1000RR because a few years ago the 1299S was just out of budget

Greetings.

There is no clear winner there they are both great bikes . If you are new to Ducatiís go the twin and see what all the fuss is about . I like the 1299 as a street bike over the V4 personally.

Can you give reasons why you prefer the 1299 over thr V4?

Hi i think you wont be disappointed with either bike,

i road the s1000rr before the 1299, and as soon as i got off the 1299 i signed the sale.....

for me its the brutality of the power delivery ( torque) that won me over....

With the V2, you have to muscle your way into the corner, tamed the beast in the corner and exist the corner, playing gently or carefully with the gas, you actually gotta understand the bike and ride it accordingly. V4 is so easy to ride, make you feel like you could cut a seconds or two of your personal best at track at ease, kinda like the S1000RR but with a bit of ducati character, twin pulse firing, single side swing arm, Come in red and red only, Italian sexiness....
Apple and orange mate, it's your money and it's your ride.....ultimate decision is in your hand.

Might want to wait and see how the V4 plays out. In the meantime, enjoy the 1299S now.

Thank you for your answers.

Some people adviced me not to buy the 2015 1299s but the 2016 instead. I can't find any reasons for that or are there some things i missed?

Only one answer here.....you need both. Buy the 1299 now and buy a v4 in a year or two when they are sorted a little more.
