just look at the 1098R's which actually had racing pedigree and they sell for 40% of original MSRP.

these bikes depreciate like a rock.
I did say collectable not it will appreciate in value.
They only made so many....

Compare it to everyday panigales they sit for sale for ages and have lost a ton of more money. Not many vehicles ever appreciate in value.

Ive only ever seen one for sale here at 45K aud and was gone in two weeks same for SL, the only 1199SL that isn't selling well is one that has been heavily modified.

Anniversary 1299

I agreed! All Ducatis depreciate like a rock! They all have the same engine and performe the same. The 1299 Anniversary is a gorgeous bike but I would rather have the V4S everyone is claiming great things about it Performance wise that is... and to me that is more worth it!

Ducati are the masters at re naming re painting something not special and marketing it as being special .
Anniversario Tri Colore Corse Edition Bayliss don't get me started on those Diavel bikes it's on and on .
Marketing that's all .
Thanks from reganc, Nitrouz and vanduc996

well collectible to me is something that is valuable and sought after and the anniversary while a nice looking bike does not fall into that category it's literally a paint job.

Give me a supermono or anything of that ilk and we have a very different discussion.

yes...i know what you mean....but the OP was asking where to price it, and $22,500 was the "sell quick" number i thought would work....(i guess you think so too)

my experience with Ducatis and motorcycles in general has most always been an under market value/priced sale...i most often take trade-in value at the dealer level, or sell privately for near/close to the same as a trade-in -- i am usually moving on to the next bike & do not wait or hold off for getting "the right price"...i find whatever deal i make is close enough....and i'm out riding the new one along my chosen timeline....while that approach doesn't work for everyone, it has worked for me....in the end, its all what makes you happy, and finding another Anniversario can only be a good thing

So true. Look at the 1098R, the Baylis, or the Desmo. The only Ducati that is collectible is the super mono. 67 made with a auction price in the range of 50 to 75k.

Problem with the DesmoRR is they made too many of them. They pop up on eBay quite often and sell for about half their original price. But the DesmoRR is a real-deal exotic. A motogp bike with lights. In 20 years I could see them being a $100k bike.
