Exhaust servo question.

Just got some akrapovic slip-ons for my 15 1299. It does come with the up map "already installed" and the plug cover for the servo. I don't see anything in the instructions about it. Do I leave it alone? Do I take the cable off? I'm reading that that servo is really just for noise? It's got nothing tj do with helping back pressure for lower end torque? Thanks!

Yes only for noise, Most of us completely remove it cables and all. I always feel good when I remove stuff

I agree. Dropping non essential weight is always fun. Thank you.

I have modified the valve to use it when I want. So in front of the police, or maybe with the neighbors ... as in the high-end cars, just one button.

I haven't gotten around to removing mine, but I did have it welded open. When tuning it on the dyno, it was having issues where the exhaust flow was so great that it was actually beginning to push the butterfly valve closed.

The actual servo cable and servo motor are in a landfill somewhere...

I removed mine per the advice of Phil, I installed a Dean Adams exhaust and safety wired it open. Glad to read from you all that it is just for noise. I'd been thinking on it.
