1299s electronics vs 1299 final edition, and cornering ABS

Hey all,

Whats the difference if any in the electronics and also ABS in particular between 1299S (2017) and 1299 Final Edition?

This link says 1299 Final Edition takes electronic rider aids from 1299 2017:
https://www.motorcyclenews.com/bike-...panigale/2017/

says .. "..Electronic rider aids are taken from the 2017 1299 Panigale, which include ‘DTC EVO’ was first seen on the 2016 Anniversario model. "

Also says that it has cornering ABS. Does 1299S have cornering ABS?

Some links I've read seems to suggest they do, but my dealer's rep firmly said it does not.

I'm tempted to buy 1299S on 'special' now, the last of twins, and probably just checking details too much .. (Always admired the big twin).

Why I bring Final edition into comparison: I was thinking, if it has extra rider aids / electronics over 1299S, those might be available as extra to purchase later (like, software upgrade, or extra sensors) from Ducati .. ?

Anyway, hope someone won't mind clearing this up, for a total 1299 uninformed..

(That WSBK style exhaust on Final edition is sick .. (let me just sell some meth first to make the cash . .kheh kheh. ) )

Good time to get a 2017 1299S......they are not making anymore of them and its the last big twin, plus only recall has been for the front master cylinder.....its got all the bugs worked out...unlike the V4S. I got mine last November for 5k off the price, so it sat all winter till it got warm enough to ride. Now its too damm warm for the most part.

Either bike will be more than capable, you'd have to be in the top 1% of track day riders to start troubling the electronics. I ride in the fast group and have never found the electronics to be the limiting factor.

I believe the 2017 onwards and Anniversarios have cornering ABS

What's wrong with wanting the latest and greatest electronics?

You have no idea who this person is and his ability, I laughed the other week when someone on here advised a very capable endurance rider that he was wasting his time even thinking about changing to an RCS-17.

The later bikes offer the slide control option which can be useful depending on your ability and your nut size .
I'm sure the earlier bikes are capable of having the newer software added to bring the electronics up to date .

Thanks for reply guys,

Looks like at least one person here thinks 2017 1299 does have cornering ABS.

You have to be in the top 1% to ride at the edge of the electronics, and it utilize the slide control which is what the 17MY got over the 16 and 15.

All 1299ís have cornering abs.

Itís funny, on my Speed Triple I routinely spun the rear tire getting on the gas out of turns when on the back roads. Slide control would have been handy.

On a literbike? Nope

I Ride: 1299s 2016 with Evo update and 1199s 2012 'project' bike
i have the 1299s from 2016 and there is an update available for the EVO TC software.

in my opinion it was worth the upgrade, and if there are good deals to be had, then i would try and get this software upgrade as part of the deal.

my TC is much less choppy than before, and i find gassing out of the corner much more predictable now as well.

i also have a 1199s and will research the possibility of retro fitting 1299 operation system ecu etc on that bike to bring it up to the level of the 1299.
