Fuel Level Sensor Fault - 1299 Panigale

Hey All,

Today I got Fuel Level Sensor Fault on my 2016 Ducati Panigale 1299. Bike has only 1900 miles. No issues thus far, until last night I did install heat shield on the bike from ducati spacers. Installation process was fairly simple but it required to remove gas tank mounts, and tilt gas tank a little (not remove tan, only tilt it under the angle). Followed this video to install.

I highly doubt I damaged fuel sensor as its inside the tank. Have anyone had this issue with faulty fuel sensor? Any way to test the sensor to see if it broke or gives faulty readings?

That’s the connector at the tip of the tank (black/yellow). The harness barely reaches there.

Hi Gecko,
Are you referring to the metal pin mounted at the tip of the fuel tank?
I inspected it, does not seem to have any damage on a pin. Black wire plugs over a pin, it installed securely, no loose movement.

There is also a wire connector plug, looked it over. It plugged in secure no wobbling. I am attaching few pictures to the post.

BadBoyBeltran,
I checked black and yellow connector. All wires at the connector are intact. Connector plugged into the socket securely, there is a small clip on top of the black/yellow connector. Connector plugged in secure to the socket, no free play of the wires. It seem to be solid.

Shine a torch inside the female part connected to the tank, check that one of the pins are not bent.

I looked over female connector connected to the tank. Sure enough one of the pins was bent and not connecting properly. Straightened pin and reattached black/yellow plug. Fuel level sensor fault went away. Problem fixed.

Thank you guys for your guidance and help resolving this issue.
