2017 Ducati 1299 Oberon clutch slave

I just purchased an Oberon clutch slave cylinder for my bike and was trying to install last night but have a question? The instructions from Oberon say to reuse the plastic grommet from the original slave? It won't fit in the Oberon one, and if I used the stock one the bots they supply with the cylinder would not fit, they would be way too long. I just want to make sure I'm not going to mess anything up if I use the one Oberon supplies? I know it's what stops the rod from spinning. If anyone can help let me know and thank you in advance.

That's peculiar as the 1199 and 1299 use the identical clutch slave. When I installed the Oberon unit on my bike, I transferred the anti-rotation insert from the OEM slave into the Oberon unit without any problems. The supplied fasteners were okay as well. Check the fit of the anti-rotation insert again. Compare it against a picture in the shop manual.

Oberon updated their slave cylinders. Now all you have to do is pop yours out and install the Oberon. No need to swap anything over. If you tired to re-use your original anti-directional grommet it would not work. The instructions that come with the cylinder are outdated. Works like a charm though. Thanks.

Just got mine in the mail today.... it has an additional bracket that mounts between the case and the cylinder. I'm assuming this is the updated unit. Nice design, can't wait to try it out.
