New Translogic Quick Shifter

Translogic updated the old unit (new model # as well) to address some of the weak points consumers raised. I just installed one on my R.

While I noticed a significant improvement over the OEM module, I would still recommend purchasing aftermarket rearsets prior to adding a Translogic.

I did not appreciate the excessive play and low tolerances in the OEM rearsets until I dug into them when installing the Translogic unit.

Looks like they use a male steel thread now instead of the threaded aluminum rod. Nice. Although I have never had issues breaking the aluminum rod. My rearsets have a positive stop on the shift lever instead of loading the rod when the gearbox lever reaches the end of the stroke. Seems to keep me from over loading the rod.

I had one of the very first TL units and made my own linkage so I didnít have issues. Better than the stock unit however it is still a microswitch design and it will develop a bit of ďplayĒ after some use. There are a few true strain gauge units available now with programmable shift points that are a bit more precise.

I forgot to mention the updated unit includes a reverse wired JST connector for GP
Shift. It’s already clipped in so if you are interested in standard shift simply unclip it. It’s all plug and play, however the slave must be loosened and the rearset/gear selector pedal must be removed to gain access to the mounting point.

Some don't. At least not 100% a 100% of the time, on the track.
