Bitubo or GP Suspension feed back??

I have a base 2015 1299 and am thinking about upgrading my front suspension and possibly my rear. The 2 choices I am thinking of are the Bitubo ECH 29 fork cartridges and the GP Suspension 25mm fork cartridges. Maybe even the Ohlins 30mm Nix cartridges.

If anyone is running any of these brands, any feed back would be great. I would like to change the rear shock as well. So if I went with the Bitubo front cartridges I would want to install the Bitubo XXF61 rear shock or the Bitubo XXf31 rear shock to match up with the Bitubo front end. If I went with the ohlins 30mm NIX cartridges I would like to match it with a Ohlins rear shock just so everything is in line.

However any 1299 or 1199 riders with a Bitubo set up please chime in on how the bike rides, how it feels and anything you can think of to describe how the bike handles.

I believe Jarel was using Bitubo on his track bike. If I remember correctly he said it wasn't any better or worse than the Ohlins, he just wanted to try something different.

I am using Bitubo suspension on my track bike, gsx-r 750 k9
front Bitubo cartridge (i forgot the name..), rear XXF31
I did the install and setup at BRS (Bitubo Racing Suspension, the Netherlands)

A friend is using ohlins on his RSV4

When comparing, ohlins is much more forgiving. The Bitubo suspension is a matter of right or completely wrong. When set up properly, the Bitubo is magnificent! But it takes some trial and error to get it right. The ohlins has a larger bandwith

Also: BRS stopped with Bitubo because parts coming from Italy are more and more difficult to get. Sometimes it takes weeks before they get the proper parts. They still do ohlins, wilbers, ...

If this is going to be a street bike, don't take the Bitubo
If you are going on track and like fiddling your suspension, take Bitubo

I agree. I’ve never seen a red/white one without white on the tail sections.

Did you switch to the Ohlins drop in cartridges or did you go with the Ohlins front fork set up? What was the exact model you used?

I ran Bitubo for a race season -- IMHO they aren't any better or any worse than Ohlins, my biggest issue was support. Since they aren't widely used, it's kind of a pain to get anything done if you find yourself having an issue -- something as simple as leaving your fork tool at home and you're 700 miles away. Everyone has an Ohlins fork tool in the pits...now go looking for a Bitubo tool...good luck. I am fortunate enough to be friends with one of the best motorcycle mechanics/engine builders in the US that had my bike after some of the races so it was less of a pain in the ass for me -- but it was definitely inconvenient at times. I made the switch to Ohlins after one season on Bitubo and the support network is 10000 times better...plus calling North Carolina and talking to a human at Ohlins is way nicer than trying to call Italy or email back and forth.

I guess it just depends on what you're using the bike for and if you'll need to make multiple changes on a consistent basis.
