1299 rear header changed. Smoke and engine light.

Recently changed my rear header pipe on my 1299 the one that curls under the seat. The original one cracked at the engine. So I replaced it with a stock header pipe. Everything went very smooth. I turned on my bike and it shows a check engine light. Also after just a minute right at the pipe started smoking really bad and smelled
Like burning plastic. Any suggestions?

The rear o2 sensor was not touching anything. But I also unplugged it because I had to switch that pipe out. It’s plugged back in though Could that be the engine light?

generally initial smoke will be from new header pipe. After 5 mins it should disappear. did you read the code for the engine light? That'll also help

Itís possible the wire to the O2 sensor got pinched during reassembly.
