899 wins MCN's 2014 Middleweight Sports bike

899 wins MCN's 2014 Middleweight Sports bike

MCN Award winner: Ducati 899 Panigale | MCN

It's such a well rounded bike, I'm very tempted to chop the 1199R in for one.

Nice article but it sounds like Ducati paid a highschool kid to write it haha. I'm happy the 899 won, but no need to trash the "liter" bike version. There are other pros to the 1199/1299 besides 200hp+.

Thanks for the share
Thanks from tcelano

The reviewer seemed to think that an 1199 under throttle scaring the crap out of you is a minus. I'd call it a plus.

Owning a 1199s and a 400, and having owned an 848, and riding my 1199 on the track (fast group) and to commute (city), i can see the point the reviewer is trying to say, and agree to it.
The 899 is better as an overall (multiaspect experience, ownership cost, etc) than the 1199.
When you pick certain aspects, though, the 1199 is more likely to excel (or extremely suck at).
Thanks for sharing.

Just remember Michael Neeves is a douche who's job is not to tell the truth, his job is to sell bikes.

That's all he is doing here is rhetorically selling this bike.

You mean to say if someone writes a positive article on something it might influence someone else's decision toward a purchase... Ya don't say.

I never understood the logic of the 899 vs. 1199 arguments.

If I wanted practical, I would have bought a 49cc scooter. I wanted a supremely powerful beautiful machine that absolutely makes one feel alive with the twist of the wrist. 1199. Done.

If I had to do it over again, I would have spent more and purchased the 1199S.

Wrong, but thanks for playing.

Will you claim the article is not rhetorically biased?

Do you know Micheals work and his personal bias?
