Alarm - 899 Pinagale

Hi - I have recently added an alarm to my pinagale 899, this was purchased from ducati. It is an orignal alarm / part.

I have found that if i dont attend to my bike (start my bike) for 2 days or more the alarm goes dead. It won't switch on/off.

I can start the bike, as i do that the alarm goes off and then once this happens i can switch the alarm off using the remote control.

I have changed the batteries in the remotes. This has not helped.

Has anyone had this problem ? Is there a problem with the alarm unit (receiver)

Any ideas / tips are welcome.

Lowering a Pinagale

Hi

Has anyone had any experience in lowering a pinagale ?

I wouldn't mind lowering my bike a little so i can reach the ground with complete flat feet.

Does this affect the performance ?
Do you need a new sidestand ?

Any thoughts / tips would be appreciated.

tit #1.) get rid of that alarm and get the scorpio ride gPS alarm… its better
tit #2.) get boots that have more elevation. if you lower your bike.. you will have to change a lot of geometric variables to make it handle safely

We had the GF's 899 lowered a tad. Replace the 899 swing arm push rod with one from an 1199. It's adjustable, so set it to the position it would be in for F if it was on the 1199 (shorter). Drop the front forks through by just one notch. We found this was just enough and it didn't have too much impact on the side stand lean angle. Finally, swap the seat out for an original 1199 one. Much less padding than the 899. And, as PA said, you can always get high heels!
Thanks from Gecko and Prince Albert

I'd consider ditching the DP alarm, on the 1199 I had one fail. As it uses the canbus system it threw up all sorts of error messages and interfered with the rider aids. I spent half an hour riding home with the DTC chopping the power every few seconds.

After 36 hours the alarm goes into "Standby Mode"

The alarm itself is still active, it's just unresponsive to the remote.

Once in standby mode, you'll have to switch the bike on (not start) and disable the alarm within 8 seconds.

By the way, OP, your bike is a Panigale. If it says Pinagale on the side, I suspect it's Chinese knock-off!
