Showa front fork question

Hi! Does anyone know if the 899 original fork springs are linear or progressive? I've tried to find info all over the internet but with no luck. The rate is spot on for me but I'd prefer linear springs. Thanks.

Not positive 100% but I think they’re linear.

Thanks! I'm thinking the same. At least looking from the picture one would think it is.

The OEM springs in the Showa BP forks are standard straight rate springs, not progressive.

Thanks! Is Matris valve kit any good? Trying to get more adjustability and less dive?

Never used Matris so can't really comment on that. Both Ohlins and Mupo have kits that we've used many times in those forks, I've personally ran the Mupo K911, Ohlins NIX30 and Ohlins TTX25 kits in them. The TTX25 is definitely overkill for anyone below professional racer level, but the NIX30's are great for all riders, they have plenty of compression damping to control brake dive and a have very effective adjustment range (unlike the stock forks).

Sorry, mixed up terms. Cartridges are out of budget at this time. I'm considering Matris piston kit. I suppose it's quite similar to Race tech's piston kit but Matris is easier to get here in Europe.
