959 Track Build + new member intro

Its cold up here in MA so i figured i have time to start posting some stuff for you guys and get into a track build thread. I am still sort of new to the forum as I havent had time to really participate (ya i know lousy excuse) but i guess ill introduce myself first and include a pic of me riding! (Not a ducati yet unfortunately)

So Im new to Ducati's and Im still sort of new to sport bikes, i have been riding MX all my life and have done many track and replica builds on the off road side. I started doing the road track after my co workers convinced me to pick up my first street bike in 2017 a zx6. That was my first street build with some cool parts but nothing out of the ordinary.

This will be my last build for a while, (besides my 2 stroke supermoto build im also doing at the moment, yes i have a problem) so i want to do it right. So feel free to add your own ideas. Thats why i am putting it on this forum. Just a heads up I have many parts already so ill catch up to that soon because its too cold to install them on the bike at the moment. So hope you guys enjoy!

So rewind to the end of August 2018. i stumbled upon my 2018 959 on Copart in NH. When the time came for it to be put up for auction i decided this was the one. My original plan was to bring it with me for my labor day trackday (as a suprise to my friends lol). From the internet pics it needed clip ons, fairings and rearsets. All which i would be changing out anyways. So i had those all ready to go waiting at the house and now it was time to pick it up.

An hour drive and the first moment i pushed the bike i knew, i wouldnt be fixing that bike in less than a week!!

So i got it on the truck and brought it home and it was tear down time to see what i signed myself up for. Keep in mind I had never seen it in person until this moment.

So after day 1 of stripping it down i came across what made this bike so hard to push. A cracked lower triple tree and bent front axle. Got that swapped out with a good oem front end that will hold me over for the 1st real test (a track day) and put the body work on. I went with armour bodies. Swapped out the cracked fairing stay for a DB holders. Installed driven adjustable rear sets. Zeta racing top triple clamp, and the clip ons i ended keeping stock for the time being since all they needed was the replacement handles. This is late september. And i was able to start it and ride it for the first time once it was rolling.

October 1st was its first real test, to see if it can make it through a track day without issue. Ill do that post tomorrow and then i'll start getting into the fun stuff which has been arriving lately.

Oh i saw your bike on another 959 forum! I remember reading something about the Pierobon Swingarm. Im eyeing one and actually reached out to Pierobon today to ask if that works for the 959 as it is advertised for 899/1199, they havent got back to me, do you know?

Yes it fits, you just new spacers for your wheels if you do not have the OZ. I am eyeing that one on eBay too... We will see who breaks down first, I am just not sure of the performance to $ ratio
