Hypermotard 821, 900 km and radiator looks like shit?

Hi!

I've recently bought a new Hypermotard 821 - with just 900 km on the clock the radiator looks like shit already full of stone chips. I've been riding the bike on normal roads like all my previous bikes. The previous bikes had barely any stone chips.

Has anyone had the same problem? The coating on the radiator on my hypermotard seems to be off bad quality.

the rads on the naked bikes take a beating, my streetfighter is the same way.

You might consider some of the aftermarket suppliers for a radiator guard kit. I've never mounted one but lots of people do.

I'm aware that the naked bikes take a beating but My old hornet wasn't even close, the rad looked much better on the hornet. These rad guards, do they decrease the flow through the radiator?

it'd reduce it but think it'd be very slight. But overheating isn't an issue normally on the non-faired 4-valve ducs so shouldn't be a problem.

I'm not sure any are out yet for the 821, but here are a couple examples.

BellissiMoto - Radiator Guard Index

Personally I'd lean towards motocorse, they have a top notch quality product typically. I've got some of their goodies on my mv.
