The 2019 Hyper has several new things going on. I would assume there will be problems and recalls. You will need a dealer in all probability.

I am inclined to test ride a 2019 when it hits the dealers, and then decide if it is ready for prime time.

I really want one as well.
I really appreciate the feedback!

Not sure if it would be considered an update. The motor is in several other bikes so it is proven. It is always hard to determine if there will be issues. I hope it is everything you have waited on.
What other bikes is this motor in? Also, does anyone have experience trying to actually work on their Hyper? I've heard Ducati is notoriously hard to work on yourself because of specialized tooling. Any tips?

I Ride: 2018 Speciale #312, 2015 R1 Track Bike
It is the motor used in the Super Sport so I would think it would be proven. As far as maintenance I am not sure. I do most of the simple stuff (oil changes, brakes fluid, chain adjustment) but motor work may need special tools.

Just put my deposit on a new hyper 950! Super pumped and was told I can pick it up in March!! Here's hoping the horror stories aren't true, nearest dealer is 100 miles away :s. I'll update if there are any unforeseen service issues! Cheers to my fellow hooligans
Thanks from Pard

Put down a pre-order for the SP at a local dealer as well.

March-April is what I am being told, but I am assuming May at the earliest.
