Ducati 2000 monster M900 - Access to Battery?

Hi There!

I am a second time duck owner - but no mechanics experience! I have a 2000 Monster M900 that the former owner rebuilt from the bottom up, including a LiOn battery (woot!) - but I don't ride that often.

Can someone point me to how to get access to the battery to use a tender/charger while I am not riding, to avoid a dead battery? I took off the seat and can't see anything obvious - but TBH I am not sure what I am looking for.

Let me know if there's a resource I have missed, or if more info would help with this?

Thanks so much!

you will find a holding bar under your seat, which is intended to hold the tank up.

just snap the buckle open behind the main lock and lift the tank in the front. then put the holding bar under it to keep it up. right behind the air box, you will find the battery!

Thank you so much, I will try that and report with any questions!!! Next question: any specific best practices for a battery tender with lion battery for a few months between rides?

Thank you for your help!!!

i'd just pop the tank and disconnect the battery.
