You haven't seen the finished, ahem, "design" yet...

My old Ulysses was a clean design. That was a great bike, shitty H-D motor and all, I miss her.

IMO an inline-4 is a HORRIBLE engine choice for an adventure bike. At least the GS has a boxer with some torque, who wants a screaming high-RPM power band on a bike you're going to drone down the highway for hours on. BMW seems to still be stuck in the single-minded mode that the only way they can compete in Ducati's market segments is to post the highest horsepower number with the ugliest bike. Doesn't look like they're deviating from that plan so far, got to give it to the Germans for the tenacity at sticking to a plan! :-)

Come on, Jarel. There's nothing quite like the joy of rocky singletrack at 14k rpms on a 500lb bike.

Exactly! Ha ha!! I usually feel like I'd be better off on my old 1975 Honda MR50 Elsinore that I had when I was a kid!

Ya, this bike does not make sense. They should be spending their time making a S600RR! That would be a hot seller.

Then again, it blows the doors off the only Streetfighter we have left so I can't say much.

Are you talking about the S1000R or the new ADV bike.

Well, I guess both since our beloved 1098 SF went the way of the dinosaur leaving us with only the 848 SF. Although a bit ugly, at least they _have_ a liter naked bike.

Can they seriously not come up with a new exhaust design? Or do they just think that one is the pinnacle of style and performance?
