1198 s vs. 1198s Corse

I am looking to buy a 1198s and really like the Corse edition, but after doing some research the differences appear to be just cosmetic, paint and some carbon pieces. Is there anything I'm missing? The Corse seems to sell for about 3-4k more than the standard 1198S. That's a lot for a cosmetic upgrade.

you will hear from the ducati people that the corse was limited edition. this is not true so be careful with that selling point, it was a special edition but nobody knows how many were made. i believe it had a quick shifter too but i dont remember about the S. of course the paint job and i think maybe termis. sorry i dont remember but i do know it was not a limited number bike. you do get a plack though saying what number it is but its not like the limited edition where it says say 1 out of 500. this plack says number xxx .

Buy the one with the most upgrades and ducati dealer service history. Beware of ultra low mileage just means thing has been sitting forever. Beware of backyard mechanic dudes, beware of dudes with bikes serviced at Joe Blows cycle type places. Make sure 1198 has correct color coolant. Yes the corse color scheme is sexxy and exposed tank cool as well. But it appears people want top dollar for the corse.
They forget 1198 is 3 models old so you may need to remind them. Also factor in droping 1200-1500 k for major service...
Add 1198SP to your list some of those are floating around. Nothing really special about it. Some electronics and a slipper non number model. Also consider a 1098R Red models.
Thanks from mark419ny and Sherpa23

I own a 2010 Ducati 1198S Corse.

The differences between the S and the Corse are the paint and the aluminum tank. My bike also has a number plaque on the triple.

The SP of 2011 has the quickshifter, slipper clutch and TTX shock.

Love my Corse, it would be very expensive to buy it
