I got the invite with some addt'l details but still scratching my head to justification of the cost. The specs don't match what the Desmo was in its time.

I Ride: 2013 Ducati 1199R
I was offered one as well. But I cannot justify the cost vs upgrades vs my enjoyment.

As TricoloreSF mentioned above, the released specs so far do not match up to the Desmo in its time. That was a completely different bike and GP replica. If there was a modern one for this price, I'd take one in a heartbeat.

The dealers sat on the bike, were given specs, etc. They're just not allowed to say anything. Which my dealer is complying with btw.

I'd be all for it if the bike was bringing something significantly new to the table like the D16rr did/still is. I'll wait for final judgement once I'm given full specs but I see what guys like Kope and others have done to their bikes and I see more substance there IMO.

Agreed but the specs on this are still not clear and anything being said is still speculation although things like the carbon fiber, titanium and magnesium parts seem to be accurate.. finer things like the electronics package, exhaust system, accessories that come with the bike, warranty, service agreement etc are what I am keen to know about.

I showed interest to be signed up for the email and my dealer nominated me anyways so that way I can get an idea of what it truly will have before making a go/no go decision

The bike is more like the 1098R than the Desmo.. It's not a desmo/motogp replica bike. . It's a higher performance derivative of the current panigale. So comparisons to the 1098R are more appropriate than the one off Desmo.

I have yet to receive an official invitation, however I will be open to at least see if there is any value to the offer.

I wonder when we might get the invitation?

From a technical standpoint I am intrigued what route they took to get 220Hp from the SuperQuadro....

Well, now that details have been leaked, I'll throw in my Superleggera .02: this bike is going to be sick. (But that's all I'm going to say!)
Thanks from Phl, Keilaz and Duck41
