hahahaha thanks for the feedback guys after a year of wearing my suit I came across this article again. I ended up getting the spidi suits since I've had 3 or 4 of them in the past and got it for $750. lol I'm glad I didn't get the factory looking dianese suit even though I usually am the fastest guy at track days. lol and an expert WERA racer, I wouldn't want to be the douche/poser. lol yeah I have a lot of guys think they know their shit when they see me pit at the track with all my stuff, they automatically assume "oh look at this rich snob with his set up and superleggera". they always approach me at the track in the mornings or in tech inspecition. lol After the first two sessions they quickly realize I'm not the last douche with a ducati they met at starbucks. lmao Never ever judge a book by its cover.

I think the whole bouncing the engine off the rev-limiter is a BMW thing. I've seen a lot of Ducs at track days and it's always the S1000rr guys that do that shit, trying to get flames to shoot out the way exhaust on the back fire.

It's hard when you show up with a European bike at track days, your almost always looked at for not being "economical" with your choice of track bike. It's always been my experience that the guys with the ragged out bike that's a few years old is the fastest. (That's not me)

I personally think you should wear and ride what you want, just always be cognizant of others and act accordingly.

I personally wear all black Alpinestars. I wear alpinestars, cause they held up better than other suits I've worn. I like they way they look too. Dainese always has this metrosexual look to them, but that's me.

Older thread back to life!

I have two suits: Taichi and Ducati Corse.

Taichi i have is a upper end leather with super high quality but I end up wearing Ducati corse because I prefer boot in instead of boot out with Taichi. I also like the bulky dainese knee protection.

I know Ducati (Dainese) suit is flashy but it was pretty much free so I careless if people think I'm a Ducati fanboy! Lol.

I I were to buy another, I'll buy Dainese air and probably darker color.

All this suit talk reminds me I need a new suit. It just hit me that my ZCustom leathers are now 10 years old
Off the rack never fits me quite right so I'm having to decide between getting measured for some new Dianeses or go back to having another set of Z's old school thick heavy leathers made again.

I don't worry about the new kids wearing fancy stuff. In fact I always tell them to get the best gear they can afford. It's about surviving.
The last douches that I've run across at a trackday were actually a couple of Hayabusa riders. It's not the bike and gear that make a douche, it's the person.

I'm waiting for my new custom D-air suit to arrive in Dec. Not that I wanted to spend that much but unfortunately off the rack suits just didn't fit me. I felt that Im worth the additional safety of the D-air and it could pay for itself in the long run...not that I plan to crash. Also, it was a fun experience designing my own suit.
