Calling all 1299SL Owners - has anyone heard from Ducati Corporate?

Hey guys, I'm new to posting on the forum but have been a reader for a while and I appreciate all the insight and perspective from the site!

I'm one of the lucky 500 1299SL owners but the experience thus far (before getting the bike of course) has not been what I expected. My dealership has been fantastic through the whole process but I have been disappointed by Ducati Corporate / Ducati North America. I was hoping for a call after the second deposit (which was in February) confirming my order and passing along some details regarding the bike and the delivery process. I currently don't have a clue when to expect delivery.

Also, as I'm sure you know, there is a track day in Bologna that I have been told is at the end of July but I have not heard anything official about.

The only "unique" correspondence I've gotten so far is an email to SL owners offering the chance to buy the special edition leathers and other gear. So basically nothing but a chance to spend even more money. (I'm sure that as soon as I hit "post" here my phone will ring though...)

Has anyone had a similar experience? Maybe some 1199SL guys can weigh in here too since they've been through the whole process?

Thank you!

-Castro

Geez, for what you've spent they should be falling over themselves to help you.

That's the kind of service I was hoping for. I don't have a garage full of exotic bikes and cars so this is a pretty special process for me.

I heard those dates as well from my dealer but I have not been formally offered them yet by Ducati. I guess maybe they have been in touch with some owners but clearly not all of them...

Castro, my situation is almost the same as yours, my local dealer in NZ has been very good but have not heard anything at all from Ducati HQ - not even an email with details for riding apparel or accessories etc. I have been told that contact and offers for the track day in Italy are being done in the order that Ducati received the bike orders so the early orders get first option, maybe that's why you haven't heard yet?

Guy, I'm glad I'm not alone. I heard the same as you - calls will come in the order that people signed up. I made my first deposit in December, how about you? I understand the rationale and am fine with it but I have 2 issues:

1. July is coming right up and it would be nice to have some time to plan.
2. When the hell is the bike coming? My dealer originally said deliveries could start as early as May but I have no idea whether that's actually the case.

Same for me in Toronto. Dealer great, zero from Ducati North America.

I suspect June/July is when bikes will start shipping.

Castro, my time line is almost the same as yours and I have the same logistics issues if planning a trip to Italy at short notice. I have been verbally advised from my dealer that delivery will probably be August. I have no issue with the wait but a little more info would be nice....
