Question for all you sl owners

How many miles have you and any major issues? Thinking of pulling the trigger on a used 2014.

Do it!!! They’re beautiful.

I bought mine earlier this year with 62 miles on it. I had to properly service it before I started using it and I had both cylinder MAP sensors go bad right away but they were an easy fix. Then I had a lamda sensor wire burn out and short somehow but I ditched those when I installed an SSTK exhaust from one of the SBK teams from one of the rounds.

I have about 800 miles on it now and it's been awesome. I really love it and I am ashamed to say that I think about adding a second one sometimes.

1299? if you do it would be good to hear your honest comparison.

Yes, that is a possibility. But I like the 1199SL more so I have been thinking of adding a second of those, especially at these prices. But I do think on a certain level that owning both would be the right thing to do. :)

In all honesty, I have to find a 996R (or 998R) first to complete my homologation superbike lineup.

It's a sickness. I only came here because I thought it was a support group. :)

In all seriousness, I figured that if I would have the best limited homologation model from each generation, it would be the 888SPO, 916SPS, 996R/998R, 999R, 1098R, 1199SL (yes, too light and too few to be homologation but it's still WSBK spec).

The one that is eluding me is the 996R (I'll also take the 998R) and I know that with my SPS that's technically two from the same generation but the Testastretta motor is its own thing that and that was the bike I lusted after but could never afford when I first got into Ducs. So either a 996R or 998R needs to get permanent residence in my garage.

I've a friend who has a deep sump 998FE and I always wind him up about it being a test bed for the 999 :) It's not true but he always bites really well.

1199 SL hands down. You can get a V4 anytime latter on down the road when the SL is paid off.
