Itís an akrapovic SSTK exhaust from one of the SBK rounds. Itís a ton different from even the SL race exhaust that comes in the kit. Huge difference.

I’m not sure what you mean by “motocorse pipe” so I can’t comment on that. I got the exhaust through my Ducati tech, Brian Sharp at Boulder Motorsports, who ran a lot of Ducati Corse teams in the past and is very close to Corse and all of the SBK teams still. Brian does everything on all of my bikes and the stuff the guy comes up with is insane.

My understanding is that all of the SBK teams had different exhausts for different tracks to highlight certain characteristics needed for optimum performance. This particular exhaust had one heat cycle and that’s it. He managed to get it and had it in case one of his race clients wanted it but after seeing it sitting there for a while, I bought it and we used it on my SL. It was definitely one of those upgrades that you feel every part of. It's awesome.

Compared to the race exhaust the SL comes with, we got 8hp more at top end but close to 20 at midrange (see how long that loop is?) based on the shape and diameter of the exhaust. The SL race exhaust is 60mm and this is 70mm. Here’s a pic of it before I put it on.

I have lots of pics of the install but most would find them boring.

This is super, super cool!

I'm a bit surprised that longer loop=more HP but that's awesome.

And I love the Termi carbon heat shield. Really, really slick.

I'm guessing it's ridiculously loud?

I like the look of the full TI Akra but even after running mere Termi slipons on my Monster, I've decided no more loud exhausts for me. Stock 959 is plenty loud. I still wear earplugs!
