When will Ducati V4 testing/reviews begin?

Don't think this has been asked.

Does anyone have an idea when journalists and the like will start being able to ride/review the bike?

Local dealer said probably around march/april, then the following month the bike will be released to the public. Not sure how credible that is though

Allegedly, Ducati USA will no longer provide demo bikes to North American journalists. Don't know if that means that they still go to Europe for the launch tests but I guess no more comparos and stuff like that.

That's odd, because the first shipment of bikes are to hit dealerships in February.

Right, and I was supposed to get my 1199 in April of 2012, not June.

Because of situations like yours, ducati is allocating specific amount of units a dealer can get and how many per month and which months they arrive. Hope it'll be an improvement. But we will see.

I Ride: Anything with 2 wheels!
My former dealer told me they are receiving two deliveries of 5 Panigales in any allocation; e.g.: 4 base Panigale and 1 S or 3 base Panigale, 1 S and 1 Speciale, etc. The first in the spring of '18 and the second in the summer '18. They are a former dealer because they wanted a 10% deposit on a Speciale. This is after I purchased a Panigale R from them in 2015.

My dealer was a lot more specific... wondering if it's what Ducati is telling them or your dealer just trying to play safe... My dealer said 2 S and 1 base in Feb, 2 S and 1 base in March, 1 S and 1 base in April, and 1 Speciale in May. Let's see how accurate that is...

Also I'm pretty sure all dealers would require a deposit on the Speciale. Much like the Superleggeras, Ducati needs to see the deposit to allocate the bike. I could be wrong though. I've bought several Ducati's from my dealer and have built a great relationship. My S is on order with them and is the first one on the list, without me putting any deposit down. But when I briefly played with the idea of getting a Speciale, my dealer said they would need 10% down for it.
