lets be real here, the twin wasn't exactly an audiophile's dream. Like all other stock bikes, you'll probably need an aftermarket exhaust.

Are you guys for real? No stock bike will ever sound good again with the Euro4 emission laws....

Pretty much this. Stock exhaust is one of the first things to go anyway. It's like all the complaints about the new GSX-R's enormo can... when it'll be ripped out and tossed asap, possibly before even leaving the dealership.

I have not modified any of my Superbikes. The stock exhaust was plenty good for me, however the Euro4 and soon to be Euro5 restrictions on sound might make me change that. The stock sound of the V4 is likely better than what we herd from the vid. We will just have to wait and see

Not going to lie I hated the L-Twin sound but it had grown on me. I wear noice isolation earplugs and listen to music anyway so I don't hear much the engine unless I want to.

Yeah, that's just recorded with a potato on a shop floor somewhere with some bloke gingerly touching the throttle. You wait until your sat on or it comes past when it hits 13k rpm, then report back

That's still not much more than 8k rpm. It's like Susan Boyle...... looks like a pig but this thing is going to sing
Thanks from Nitrouz and SixShock

I think it sounds fine. But then I'm probably one of the 3-4 people on earth who would've preferred my 1199 to be quieter. Call me weird!

I've had quite a few bikes that I thought sounded good, and that most of my friends thought did too. It was amazing how many of them made faces when they first heard my 1199. Not only was it loud, even stock, but it just didn't have the deep tone that older Ducati's did with the longer, straighter exhausts. I replaced the stock cans with front exit Termi Evo's for the midrange power gain, and while I liked the tone better, the volume was still more than I'd have preferred. Still think my benchmark for stock exhausts was my '05 RC51; perfect balance of volume and tone. Especially with those straight cut cam drive gears singing harmony...

I have to disagree, I had a 2008 zx10R with a Racefit growler and that thing sounded like a screamer, my brother bought a zx10R and two days later I bought the 1299 Pani. I met my brother and his family for dinner that night and brought the Pani. After dinner we went out side and I started up the Pani and he was amazed at how the 1299 Pani sounded compared to his. I would say it sounded better than my 2008 zx10R. I'm sure the Pani sounds much better with an after market exhaust, but sock was plenty loud for me.
