ive heard that mag rims have a shelf life, deteriorate over time and that race teams get rid of them after 1 year. who knows the truth i dont

I've heard that too. But not sure how reliable. Mine has been running for 4 years already.

I have been using Blackstone Tek wheels since 2003 on my street, now track only, RC51. No issues. They are pretty amazing!

Yes Blackstone Tek on my 1098 for a couple of years road and track and not a mark.
My mate bought my bike with those wheels and now he's up to two years on the road without any grief, I really loved that bike.

It would be great to easily post some images without having to join a hosting service.

If you spend some time on youtube and watch the test videos of CF rims you'll be ordering a set sooner than you think lol

Exactly, mag wheels have a lifespan that is difficult to determine. Top teams were swapping them frequently, bottom teams couldn't afford to. Hence, banned.
