I Ride: '16 Pani R, 1098R Bayliss, KTM1090R.
The other issue, at least with UK and Scandinavian tracks, is that we are struggling
to meet noise regs with street legal exhaust systems. If track specific models
start to appear with race systems, then we will need more db control.
You cant please all of the people all of the time, so it will be a very small niche market to
satisfy.

KTM did it with race variant only of the RC8R. It was track only.

I dont think KTM were in WSBK so they werent required to sell min amount of bikes

Neither do I. And I don't race. Riding in Bangkok traffic is suicidal. I store all my bikes at a 650 metre gokart track in Bangkok, where I take regular coaching. End of this month I'll venture on a 2.5km. with Ninja 400. If all goes well, I'll move my SuperSport 939 there. And if that goes well, I'll replace it with the V4 S (which I don't have as yet ).

I think it's better to have a street legal motorbike, and then to put it up for the track. Here in Italy a track only bike is almost impossible to sell. Otherwise, if you have all the original parts you can: 1) Sell the bike in original configuration. Usually very good looking conditions, as new plastics and aestetics. 2) If the bike has bent frame or seized engine you can sell the parts you saved and earn some money. 3) you can sell the parts just after the purchase, and use the money for mods. At the end you will always have a registered frame with documents to sell.
