What the Pani V4 Should Have Been Called??

"The evolution of the Panigale" is what they say. Well as one of the first to commit to the original Panigale and still love her like it's fresh vagina I'd say Im a little disappointed that they called the ALL NEW bike a Panigale.
What do you think it should've been called?

I think Stradale V4 would have been dope !!

In Ducati's defense...it's not really an ALL NEW design. It still shares most of it's design language with the Panigale.

I beg to differ, a similar silhouette doesn't make 2 things the same. 80% new is ALL NEW lol. Even the swing arm is longer.

There were more similarities between the 999 and the 1098 then the Panigale and the PV4 ;-)

I personally feel it should have been called a Desmosedici. Fairings are only skin-deep; that perimeter Japanese-style frame, the canted V, 4 cylinders...those are all MotoGP elements, and the motor itself is derived from the MotoGP unit and has nothing in common with the Superquadro.

I understand that Ducati wanted to keep the Panigale branding for their top-tier superbike, but for me personally, Panigale represents not only the last V-twin superbike, it's also the street version of Preziosi's monocoque frameless design and a mass-produced engineering concept in line with the Britten V1000 - the only one I can think of. By adding the aluminum box frame, Ducati may have improved the handling, but it's also one step closer to the UJM formula.

Panifatty , Paniporker ?
Only kiddin. It has design language similar to v2 so calling it a Pani is appropriate.
Borgo Panigale is the town where they are born. The v4 comes out of the same factory so based on where it comes from and looks , Panigale is all good .......

I wouldn't be surprised if 'Panigale' is the nomenclature for their superbike range from now on. Kind of like how they have 'Monster' for their naked, 'Supersport' for sports tourer, 'Diavel' for their cruisers, 'Multistrada' for their adventure, and so on and so on.
But I'd agree with the OP, Stradale V4 would've been nice.

Ducati now belongs to AUDI, that is not used to change model names, even if the car is complitely new. A4, A6, A3, etc, etc are always the same name since many dozens of years ago.
