Good out loud thought. Hard to say if it will improve your lap times. Guess it depends on your skill and if your riding style is enhanced by this bike. I bet your wallet will be thinner with this bike tho...but if it’s what you want then go for it.

From the sounds of it I’d like to have this new V4 but like you mentioned, it doesn’t make sense cost wise for me and my plans so I’m picking up a 17’ RSV4 RF on Tues. for my new race bike and keep my old RSV4 for my B bike.

Yea...could go that way too! Ulrich’s article claimed it to be the fastest and best...but didn’t say what it did better compared to other bikes. Maybe saving that for the comparison?

Which EBC setting were you using on the 1299 and which are you using on the V4?

honestly i doubt you would be faster, if you are a novice or intermediate rider lap times will improve as you get more seat time but it won't be anything to do with the bike as i don't think you can buy a bad bike now.

Rider training and seat time will make you faster not a V4.

I agree partially reganc with your comment - however I think some bikes other than others inspire confidence because of ergonomics and how the rider feels on the bike, which will naturally translate to a better lap time.

usually people can't handle the power and are faster on a 600, the latest bikes flatter the riders ability whereas a few years ago they would have highsided themselves to the moon.

but the V4 electronics and the previous 1299's are phenomenal and a big jumo forward.

You going to bring that SL down to COTA at the end of May?? I'm sure we could snag a garage spot with the Ducati Austin folks for the weekend..
obviously COTA is very well suited for this bike, how do you think it will handle the shorter tighter tracks.

Well, they seemed to rave about it at Valencia, which is like a stadium track. I can't speak to that myself yet, but should get an idea pretty soon.

Great review. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts after you add the Akro exhaust and put some more miles on.
