....from the sound of things here, if you guys were any older, you might be reaching back for drum shoe brakes, suicide shifters and firestone tires.....

lets do this instead...."out with the old....in with the new"

joking, of course....just felt it needs saying
Thanks from Nitrouz and cavlino

Nice review, thanks for posting.

It's always interesting that everyone on any new bike says that it turns in so much quicker than the old one. I wonder how much of that is due to the fact its running on new rubber that still has the ideal profile as its not as though the geometry has radically changed. I know that when I put new tyres on my bike it feels like the telepathic steering has returned .. Just a thought
Thanks from Nitrouz

Thanks for the write-up. Haven't put any road miles on yet, so good to hear.

I agree with you on the raw factor, which is part of the reason I kept the 1299 for now. I will likely be a bit quicker around the track on the V4, for the most part, but I may miss wrestling the bear every now and again..
Thanks from Nitrouz

Let's see a 40 to 100 roll on vs a 1299 - my money is on the twin. Anything new is always "much faster"

I'm sure they will do 0 to 180 you can just time the 40 to 100 on the video.

Interesring to read your review as Iím not recalling the same love . I have done approx 200 km on the bike so far and Iím not feeling the same love as I felt for the previous bike most certainly the 1299 .
The torque is missing which I suspected but if you donít have the pinned itís really not that exciting while the 1299 was just a fun bike .
I feel the riding position is a little more severe the previous bike sat s little ďflatter ď with less pressure on the wrist .
The tank has nice shape good to lock in knees and elbows but I definitely donít feel quicker .
Nice to see the air hitter now has easy access for a simpler change looking forward to receiving my exhaust and doing some suspension work .
Thanks from RD16RR and able duc

Stikes me Strange ??? You put on 450kms on your last bike , before it went up in flames !
As an ex Private Investigator for Insurance Companies , I look @ your posts with the utmost skeptism .
YET !!! You post how great this bike is ??? Was'nt you're last bike this great @ the beginning ... BEFORE IT WENT UP IN FLAMES ???
As a photographer I had to document many accidents and Investigate the ones my Boss figured were just too wierd to EXPLAIN .
Two days before "this happened to me today" .you posted "stalling" , NEXT !!! you're up in flames !!!
DON'T THINK DUCATI , ICBC , CANADA TRANSPORT are not looking at you .
How come you're POSTING WITH THE EXACT SAME MODEL BIKE , with less kms ???

wilkson thanks for your thoughts on the V4
Be interesting to hear when you get it track sorted, might be like what I thought of the 1098/1199 transition but then after a few months forgot all about the Testastretta Evoluzione

Iím thinking this may be the case I hope . Iím actually going to keep the Showa internals just upgrade the spring rate and oil in my bike to see how they perform .I think and hope it will be great on the track I will find out in about 4 weeks one thing it didnít is rev like the Desmosedici due to the heavier internals and longer stroke .
One thing that is really noticeable on my bike is the slop in the throttle which is one thing I will need to fix itís actually quite annoying on this bike .
