Stalling?

Yep, my v4 stalled.

Went for a spirited ride today, stopped at a coffee shop with my buddy (Ducati master tech). We sat for about an hour. Started the bike, everything was fine. Then on the way out there was a tight corner so my clutch was in. As I turned out of the corner and picked up speed, I let the clutch out, and it started chugging. I was going about 25km/h as I looked down. It felt like the chugging when the engine rpm is too low for the gear. (I checked the last couple days and it's smooth with clutch fully disengaged around 20km/h and up). Anyways, so I naturally gave it a bit more throttle and it just chugged again. Clutch in, and stalled. Restarted and no problems since. Opened the fuel cap and no pressure there. My buddy said it might just be a mapping issue when we turned it off when the bike was hot. But when I turned it off, the fan was still going as usual.

Anyways, hoping it's nothing. If it happens again I'll bring it in. Just noting it here for your reference.

Well some things will never change even with a new model. I'm hoping more than anything else the v4 doesn't leak oil like every Ducati I have owned. Here's hoping it's an isolated event. Thanks for posting

Interesting. Hopefully it will go away once broken in fully. I know a few of the 1299s used to do the same. Once again could make for an ass pucker moment when you’re trying to clear an intersection.

My 1199R stalled occasionally, but never the "chugging". That was weird.

Percolated fuel in the lines ? Bike stood hot . I have had several experiences with this.cars and bikes.
Lycoming engines and continental engines are very prone to this. Yes I know they different.
Just saying .

So there are 2 v4's delivered in my city so far. Mine and a friend of mine. His bike stalled while in neutral today as well. So yep, just confirmed that the v4's are built by ducati.

Every Panigale Iíve owned 1199S, 1299S and 1299 Superleggera all suffered stalling when in neutral idoling or coasting to a stop with the clutch in for the first 1000km. I was told from the dealer this because the engine is oversquare, however the V4 is not...
