Maybe this engine is just to much of a beast for Supercorsa
What was the ambient and track temp?
Thanks from tadashi

Mid 50s in the morning. Mid 60s in the afternoon.

Not sure about the track. Probably perfect really, not too cold and not too hot.

At least according to this article and the pictures I think you're reading it right...

Sure looks very similar to the hot tear...

@jbraslins: What are your initial impressions of the V4 at the track?

Well, you should take my comments with a grain of salt. It's been 10y since I last rode on track, and even back then I only did track days and very few novice races.

I've also never ridden a modern inline 4 liter bike, or 1098/1199/1299. My bikes back then were 999 and GSXR 750.

But, some observations (wrote this on another forum):

Bike is stupid fast, yet incredibly easy to ride. All the electronics are simply amazing.
If you turn everything off, you better know what you're doing, cause it's a freaking angry space rocket that wants to melt your face off.

I never got it out of 5th gear. Not because i ran out of room on the straights, but because i just did not have the balls to keep it pinned entire time and rev all the way to 14.5 in every gear. Will fix next time out

It flicks from one side to another in the esses with ease. No comparison to 999 (never rode 1098/1199/1299). Must be that counter-rotating crank. As easy if not easier than my GSXR 750 did.

Engine is a masterpiece for sure. Just picture a smoother, revvier twin. It def feels closer to a twin than it does to I4. Sound too. Yet it has so much rev range, really fun to wind it all the way up coming out of corners.

No problem pulling out of corners in taller gear, plenty of grunt. Gearing was wrong for VIR, so i found myself in few slower corners with 2nd being too short and 3rd too tall. With this engine, staying in higher gear works.

It felt comfy while i was riding it, but at the end of the day I was sore as ****. Mainly quads and forearms. Getting old suck

Oh one more thing to add. While i did notice a lot of heat coming of the bike riding on the street. I am happy to report that at least @ 66F ambient, i did not notice heat even once while @ track.

I had the same basic experience here as well... however, this thing really retains the heat! I noticed a good 30min after shutting it down, the whole tank was quite hot to the touch and not on the bottom by the exhaust, but @ the cap. Ambient temp was around 70ish degrees.

We tossed it in the trailer for a 1hr ride home, cloudy day, ambient temp still 70s and when I opened the door up on the trailer, it was a sauna in there. I hope there is a carbon tank in the works soon. That metal just holds a lot of heat it seems.

Thanks guys for the track updates!! I'm going to the shop this morning to pick her up!! Just arrived yesterday. We'll set the sag there. My wife ins't the best helper. I have one week to get her ready for Barber!! Hopefully the Panigale is easier to get around Barber then my Touno!! Last year I had to bump up the wheelie and traction controls to the mid point!! Allot of wheel spin and some pretty cool crossed up wheelies coming off turn 5C. I was mentally defeated after that track day. Yes getting old sucks! I could go back to riding the good old Honda Hawk 650 but I just love the rush of the big bikes. Add in the rider aids (which helps make up for my poor technique) and you've got a combination that's more expensive then drugs or sex!!
