Apeluv,
Start looking for your V4 base in August or September. You will find some online with low low mileage. Someone who made a impulse purchase will be unloading one. Or someone wanting to buy a house or go to school will be unloading one. Ducati does not want to over saturate the market with 2018 V4's sitting on dealers floors come winter time. Because then they have to throw buyers some deals. We hope!
You may find a V4 base with a slipon or full system.
Cant believe they want 40k for the 1299FE
what a rip off and there is no way that turd should cost as much as the V4 Speciale. There must be some wiggle room on the FE's by now...

Forgetting purchase price, do yourselfs a favour and compare part prices with a jap bike.

I compared my new R1 and zx10 to the v4.
Tanks, plastics,leavers,mirrors,handlebars etc.
Most v4 parts are 3x the price.

Now you ask , why did I look.....?
I don’t insure any of my bikes or “fun” items. If I had a loss I must be ok with the repairs from my pocket.

Having said that, I will get a v4 once the initial rush is over, but it will be used rather carefully.

Could be because the 'riding' season really hasn't started yet and/or new model release... Granted I can afford the MSRP cost, but I can't find it in my soul to pay MSRP cost.

I ended up getting an exhaust for my 13R instead.
When I bought my 13R back in April of 13' I was able to find a dealer to give me 2000 off MSRP OTD less tag on a bike they had to order it was delivered in OCT. Remember this was the first R of the panigale series and people at the time didn't know the 15-17R were on the horizon. Don't be affriad to travel out of the area or state.
^^
this. there is a 1299 fe at my dealership and i can get him down even more with that terrible exhaust. i told him im not spending near 40k for a bike that i have to spend another 8k for a new full system.

there were also a 2 panigale R there

Some may say they don’t understand how people will pay 20k+ for a sport bike or 5k for an exhaust system....

Pay to play.... don’t judge others because “you don’t understand”

It happens all the time with other things like Phones, cars, etc

V4 Base is a great deal for the money. The V4 and Speciale are very special in their own ways. And shite if you can afford one go for it.
With me Ducati superbikes move your soul. The R1M with a full Akra race moves my soul as well. And of course the HP4 Race moves my soul real good. LOL
Aprilia has nice models but the problem with them is the number of dealership locations. I have been amazed with I have seen pop up on cycle trader the past year. The deals will always be there or soon to come.
