Rizoma fuel cap

100% my fault, i did not read/research enough before ordering it.

But majorly disappointed. One of the reasons I got it is because all the descriptions said it eliminates the need to use a key.

But, to my surprise it comes with it's own plastic key needed to open the cap. Lol. So i guess it eliminates the need to use your bike key. Kind of defeats the purpose for me as i wanted easy refills @ the track and not having to hunt for they key. Hanging another key on my key chain with Ducati key is even more dumb lol.

Looks good tho. Quality piece.

Just heads up for people who are thinking bout ordering one.

I am considering not installing it and selling it.

Quick add, while it's possible to press down with your thumb and unlock it without a key, it's next to impossible (i was not able to so far) to get the cap out.

Maybe it's designed for the excessive tank pressure and supposed to pop up

Its a change in design to prevent people syphoning off your more-expensive-by-the-day gas..

Not a concern for me. Since most of the street bikes have locking caps, you gotta be a pretty persistent fuel thief to run around looking for one with non-locking cap lol.

I'd be careful with any ducati non-sponsored cap like either oem or Rizoma by ducati...

I really wanted a keyless, and had it on my first bike. The second bike I got a replacement, but was told by ducati to use only Ducati by Rizoma. Anything fuel related.

The first few recalls were due to my first bike, and I'm pretty confident it had nothing to do with the fuel cap. But what do I know... I rather keep my warranty and not bet against the house.

I use this one on my 1299 and just ordered one for the V4. Never had an issue with it and it's keyless/simple.

There are quality options for the fuel caps since they are the same from the 1299 models.

TWM makes the Ducati Performance branded gas caps, and they have aluminum and carbon fiber options that fit the V4 as well. Or you can pick up the Ducati Performance one for the 1299 to fit on the V4.

Also here is an install video, install will be the exact same for the V4 models.
