Ok, now what? You think its cool that we all have to deal with larger and larger mufflers every year, along with more and more sound regulations because folks cant be responsible enough to check themselves? I'm not yelling at anyone here, but it seems crazy to me to have a pipe that loud on the market.

Agreed. The makers of said systems put ďFor off-Road or competition-use onlyĒ on the box to relieve them of any liability, but using a seriously-loud system on the street is just being a bad ambassador for our sport. Donít get me wrong, I love a good-sounding motorcycle engine at full-song, but using any system that is obnoxiously-loud on the street invites the wrong kind of attention from the wrong kind of people. Having a Desmo-Dovi replica system on your bike wonít make you ride like Dovi. I should know...I bought some John Holmes-replica boxer shorts and they didnít do a thing for me.

And some tracks wont even let you run with a pipe that loud. Just seems lazy to offer something like that.

The big scary exhaust is going to eat them, destroy the environment, and tarnish the Ducati name.

I'm all for freedom that doesnt impinge on me. What loud pipes like that do is cause everyone to complain which then means that we cant even get decent sounding aftermarket pipes because they are illegal (and actually enforced).

Example: You have to sign a bunch of papers with Ducati now just to get them to put Akra pipes on your V4 and flash the bike. This is because laws are getting tougher. Do you think laws changed because the government feels like it, or do you think maybe that people are complaining?

The big scary exhaust is going to make you deaf (I dont care) and also make people who have no choice or ear protection listen to your pipe that is literally as loud as a jet engine.

Race bikes sound awesome, how come racetracks limit the sound? For fun?

I'll tell you what happens, laws get made that make you keep your heavy ass oem muffler that is super quiet and the aftermarket dries up. Racetracks get more strict and kick you off for running too loud, they start painting ducati's blue, and your mother is dissapointed in you.

Regulate yourself, or get regulated.
