V4 headlight Canada

Hey guys, just a question about headlight wiring. In Canada the regulation on a motorcycle is that during the day they must have one headlight on, not just the 2 LED strips. Iím just wondering how difficult or expensive it would be to wire the headlights up so that just the LEDís are on during the day and the headlights can be turned on at night.

I was just thinking of the exact same thing this week. I have a suspicion it's more of a software thing than a wiring thing. The US model has the low beam come on and go off automatically when it's dark / light out (seems to be on the same light sensor that the display uses to switch from day to night mode). Of course that's purely speculation on my part but we even have the daytime light switch on the left controls and everything. I'd love to be able to turn it off as well. If it's just a wiring thing that'd be awesome.

press the light button, the one on the right at the front on left handle bar side, play with it and choose the mode you want. i always used manual mode where only 2 LED strips on instead of 2 LED strips + right head light ( low beam )

That doesnít work in Canada, the button is there but it is deactivated, stupid government says a headlight needs to be on. Even though on cars they allow just LED strips during the day

I'm going to try pull that switch gear apart and see if there are even wires to that button. Also, does anyone know where you can find a wiring diagram that doesn't require a microscope to read? The one in the back of my user manual is a laugh.

Looking forward to see what you find. As I'd love to turn the DRL off and leave LED's running..

It's a simple plug into your dealer's Ducati Diagnostics System and activating the DRL function by clicking enter. Takes less than a minute. You just have to make sure your dealer is willing to because it's technically illegal in Canada.

Don't take anything apart. It's pre wired for it. Mine and many other of my local friends have it done.

You're in Vancouver too? Seems like a lot of us on here. I bought mine from "the other" dealer but I'll see if they'll do it for me. Glad to know it's easy, just gotta find someone willing.
