The DQS issue is worrisome. You don't generally buy a 200+ HP bike to ride it gingerly, second-guessing it so it won't surprise you and cause an accident. I didn't mind the other recalls so much, and this issue isn't even a recall yet, but it's potentially the most serious of the problems so far.
I'm close to cancelling my Speciale order. That would make me pretty sad and probably I'd regret it, but there will always be some of these around to buy if/when the bugs are all finally ironed out. Might have to wait.

Very troubling..Not an isolated incident obviously. This could potentially cause loss of control at speed or on track. Not very confidence inspiring..
Nothing worse than having the bike in the shop all the time for extended periods.

Took my bike in for the 600 mile service. They ran a vin check and said a DQS update was needed. They did the update. Honestly, I like the way it was before the update. I never experienced the issues you guys described but there’s an update for DQS that was just released. I have the V4 base.

Avoid corners. Really?

Not indefinitely, just for the few minutes it takes to figure out the problem. If my bike started surging and shit, I'm not going to go diving into corners, I'm going to pull over into a parking lot or something and see what the hell is happening. If I find out it's due to DQS, stop, turn it off, then go back to riding as I normally would.

I feel like this should be common sense, but apparently it isn't. People will actually sit there on a bike not doing what it is told and just stay on the gas without pulling in the clutch or finding somewhere safe to stop quickly.

So is this happening to everyone now?

I'm meant to drop off my 1299 tomorrow and pick up the V4 Monday. Seriously considering not doing that now. Or maybe I can ask the dealer not to update the software out of the crate for the time being?

I didnt encounter any DQS issues (yet) but noticed that after the software update sometimes when using DQS, instead of directly showing the new gear, the display shows “-“ for a short period of time (maybe 3/10 sec). That wasnt the case pre software update
