Or maybe I can ask the dealer not to update the software out of the crate for the time being?
Ducati Corporate probably does not permit that. I bet soon as its un-crated and prepped to start, they do the updates. Audi and Porsche are known to do OEM "updates" on cars when their customers specially tell them not to...soon as its hooked to the computer, it checks the date and sees if an update is ready....and in it goes.

I have 3300 miles on mine now and have not encountered any DQS errors. Got a few tiny ones before the 600 mile service, but those were solved with simple off/on cycles.

Just got my ecu update for DQS. Maybe it's different as it detected my upmap and the wording for the update says it's for full exhaust maps only.

Did a few WOT runs... No change in power that's noticeable. No change in any of the controls like EBC, DWC, etc that I could notice. Power delivery the same. Just the DQS is more sentitve and a lot faster. Doesn't backfire as much as before because it gets into gear so quickly. And it seems to be throttle based... The more throttle during up shift, the quicker the shift. Downshift feels the same except slightly more sensitive.
Thanks from xpercad, Sherpa23 and cavlino

Let's hope this is the update that will last! Thanks for the update.

I had the same issue but not light, just cut out then back on it happened about 5 times on two separate days. I took it back to the dealer they reset the Ecu and did the Qs update I ended up having a faulty Qs so they replaced it and I havenít had any issues since but Iíve only rode it about 25 miles since I got it back from the dealer last week

Just yesterday I was at about 90% throttle in 1st going on to the highway at a fairly spirited speed. The front wheel was off the ground (as it does when you give it the beans in first) and then the damn thing cut to what seemed like 0% throttle, front smashed down, smashed my balls on the gas tank, etc. I hadn't had a chance to roll off the throttle given the major WTF moment and it immediately surged back to full throttle again (about 2 seconds after cutting out). One thing I did notice was the amber TC/ABS light flashing when this happened.

I was riding with warm tires on scorching hot smooth asphalt, off the brakes, not cornering, lots of traction - no reason for any type of interdiction to be happening - so the TC light flashing was a bit of a mystery.

Is this consistent with what those of you that have had the QS issues experienced? I left mine on but turned around and rode back home at a very relaxed pace. Didn't notice any issues other than the one occurrence and no weird chugging before or after. Other than that one occurrence the QS has been great, but now I'm scared to ride this thing hard and need to figure out what to tell the dealership. If anyone can confirm / deny that this is similar to what they went through that'd be great. Might be something else but I can't see what other system would completely chop the throttle like that for such an extended period of time.

Hi - I'm new to the V4 forum! Wanted to check with you guys some similarities with the issue.
_________

Took my V4 to the track for a Sunday stroll after getting it back from the dealers after two weeks to sort EM light issue – some debris got stuck in the exhaust flapper valve!!!

Anyway, after about 10 minutes into the first session, the bike behaved strangely on corner entry – jerking and shunting forward when the throttle was fully closed and even though braking. The quickshifter stopped working intermittently, but came back eventually.

Feeling almost like the auto-blip is out of sync, with the down-shift being quite harsh, I re-calibrated the tyres to see if this would make any difference.

Next session was fine for 1 lap, and then same thing – a shuddering shunt into the corner – and again - no quickshifter this time for the whole session. Also, at the settings menu in the right bottom corner, an error would be displayed in red next to the DQS option.

I then unplugged and re-plugged QS connector a few times, disconnected battery to reset ECU, changed tyres and re-calibrated again, but the problem would re-occur within the first lap, only disappearing upon ignition switched off for a few minutes and switched on again.

I ended up riding old-school using the clutch the rest of the day.

Bike is in for repair now, and the dealer says it is the second one for them.
______

I have noted some trends regarding the issue and wanted to confirm with you guys but it seems like the issue started after software update and effects mostly bikes built in February.

Your feedback is appreciated

Astute observation about build date being related to the QS problem. I'm eager to see if you're right.

I dunno. I have the first V4 base to make it to the west coast and I haven't had any quickshifter issues, even after a few track sessions and 3500 miles. I cross my fingers every time I say that though.
Thanks from cavlino
