What are you guys paying for the first service?

V4 owners I hope you don't mind me asking but how much are your dealers charging you for the 600 mile service?

Around 450 dollars if I recall correctly. 2.5 hours of labor at 125 dollar rate, the rest being the filter and oil.

That 2.5 hours includes a lot of checks and Itís kind of ridicules. Every other cycle Iíve have was about $250 and I thought that was high.

First service cost me about $600, but that included about $250 for a replacement mirror that I managed to snap off two days before the initial service.

So $350ish for the service alone

Thanks guys, I had assumed between 400 and 600. To me it's a complete rip off to reset an oil service light, change the oil/filter, tighten the chain and look for loose stuff.
I'm thinking about taking mine over on a trailer with all the fairings removed because I just don't trust someone else with my bike.
I have already performed the first oil change myself. Since allot of gasket material came out on the first oil change I am requesting another oil change.

Quite a bit. I've performed the first oil change on all my new bikes over the years, I always expect to see light metal but this is the first time I have seen actual pieces of gasket material. I will ask the shop to filter the oil with say a white paper towel so we can see what comes out this time.
