Smile First ever track day!!!

Hey everyone just wanted to share my first ever track day and it couldn't be more special then completing it on the V4.

I was so nervous when i got to the track. Im usually a very confident rider on the road. Have been riding for years and finally pulled the trigger to do it. felt very intimated by the track as it was going to test everything i knew about riding a bike but also how well i could handle this monster of a V4. as the day went on my confidence grew and grew especially knowing that the V4 had my back with the electronics. By the end of the day i was one of the fastest in my group. To put it into perspective my lap times were about 2:01mins whilst the average for my group was about 2:17mins so was extremely happy.

few things about the V4:
*Stupidly fast down the straights. Demolished anything that was in its way.(got up to 260km/h down the straight)
*amazingly agile in the corners.
*very forgiving if you messed up a corner

Few questions:
*hit the rev limiter 3 times accidentally. Is that bad for the bike? (bike has 1600km on it so far)
*Chain became a lot more loose. is that normal?
*Should i change the oil after a track day? only changed the oil about a month ago and havent done much riding in between that lately.

that is all. very excited and had to vent
thank you
Thanks from Mutt1979 and TOBTEK

Good read and sounds like you had a great day. The track can be very addicting so keep an eye on your wallet lol. I am taking mine to Laguna Seca in a couple of weeks and hoping for the same results.

The rev limiter is there to keep the bike from over reving so no worries.

The chain most likely just stretched under hard exceleration an adjustment should fix.

I am one that changes oil often but inho you could just wait. If you do another couple track days I would change but normal street riding you should be good.

Glad you enjoyed your day itís the only place for the V4 . Buy yourself a rear hub tool it a five minute adjustment from memory 25mm of slack. Hitting the Rev limiter is OK that is why you have it try not to make it a habit and oil changes should be more frequent but not every track day .

Very true the V4 was in its element at the track. Cant wait to get it out there next time. Will buy one soon so i can make adjustments at home and at the track. Yea i forgot to shift whilst going down the straights but only those 3 times and i changed very quickly when i realised. Thank you for my answering my questions. much appreciated

My third track day is coming up quickly, I have adjusted my chain twice, oil once and haven't found the need to bump her off the rev-limiter. She'll probably hit the rev-limiter down the back straight at Road Atlanta.
