The new S1000RR will also have a counter rotating crank and more HP obviously.
There will be plenty of V4R bikes to be had only a small percentage of hardcore guys buy R bikes. BMW has a huge following they will sell a good amount of 2019 S1000RR's. And their base model will cost less than a V4 Base.

Biggest issue it's going to be $45k I can buy most of the competition for that.

I hope it's amazing.

It should at that price point. It may win but doubtful on being eaten alive. That would all depend on who wields it.

On the plus side, there should be some gently used ones for sale at a decent price in the next couple of years

I thought about waiting for the R but decided not to and get the Speciale. My rationale behind it..?

Number one reason is: I donít track much anymore... not because I donít like to but because I donít have the time to do it.

I had both the 1199R and the Panigale R and found them too hardcore for everyday use. Suspension is harsh, Lighter flywheel on stop and go is not fun, etc.

So I decided to go for the E suspension and Akrapovic and of course the bling factor of the Speciale.

Who knows... might change my mind when the R is released.

The R engine is going to be f*cking bat shit crazy, period. It'll be a MotoGP engine on the road.

But you will get a very standard machine built around the exceptional engine....... all for £40k to comply with WSBK rules...... + optional magnesium wheels, £3.5 k, + exhaust, £5k, + optional carbon kit £1.5k......... etc.

To get the bike Ducati have in mind it will be well upwards of that £40k figure
