It comes with software to visualize the data, but honestly that doesnít help me much. Integrating it into video so I can see what is really going on at the time, what my line was like, etc. is more helpful IMO.

So, just FYI. I ran with the setup that was installed on the Speciale this last weekend @ COTA. Came out pretty disappointed. The DDA system on the 1299 seemed to work much better and more consistently.

For some reason, I was getting "Lap Full" messages on screen with only 15 laps recorded in the lap screen menu. I know I've previously had upwards of 30 or so laps on the 1299 without issue.

Second, and this was the most problematic. The damn thing sometimes wouldn't record the end of a lap and just keep going and then maybe click off a lap the next go around. I ended up with several 4m+ laps at COTA. This happened a good 20-30% of the time. Really disappointing.

I had the start finish setup in the exact same place I used on the 1299 without issues. Weather was perfect and clear.

Anyway, just a heads up for others. Perhaps I'm missing something (hopefully), but I don't think so, as I used the 1299 system religiously without issue.

Thanks for the heads up. I know the manual states that the lap timer only holds 15 laps but I was hoping with the DDA attached it would save. Seems crazy that you have to clear it out after almost every session. I am looking into getting the AIM timer as they have a cable that will plug into the same port as DDA and provide additional data.

On my 899, the quality of the GPS sync varies wildly, and I get issues getting an accurate lap time because of it. It often does what you say and wonít record the start/finish line.

It does however have space to record basically a whole day of laps with tons of space to spare. Not sure what is going on for the v4 guys there.

That is disappointing. I am looking at a possible setup for myself for lap times. Back in a day, I ran Aim Solo in my BMW M3 and it worked great, but bikes have so little room to mount all this stuff. I currently have GoPro by the ignition key, and wonder if anyone figured out how to mount AiM Solo DL on this bike.

I also have V1 radar detector and radar screamer wired for the street, I canít think of a place to mount anything extra..

Curious about where you mounted your GPS sensor? Did you have Ducati activate the GPS as described by another, or was it plug and play? My system not recognizing GPS. I have turned on DDA and track mode plus activated start finish with no luck with autolap at all.

Since your bike In not a Speciale, you have to have It activated by the dealership ...
You can either put the Sensor In the front or In the back ... If you use a Carbon fiber tail fairing, you better put It In the front or the sensor won't work ...

This was on a speciale, so it was already installed by Ducati. I believe it is installed in the tail. Pretty sure I just saw the blank in the front still.

If there is an option to move it to the front, that *could* perhaps eliminate the issue I was having with it not ending laps properly. Would be nice if that was an option, because right now it does not work very well for track use.

Yep, totally understand. It is so much cleaner just having it all integrated into the dash.. if it works. Some guys mentioned that maybe the mount location is optional? If that is the case, perhaps just needs to be mounted in the nose for best track performance. Someone should test/verify this.

Oh to hell with this. I ordered the DDA, I will give it a shot and make sure that the sensor is mounted upfront and report how it works for me. Next time out for me will be COTA after the F1 weekend most likely.
Thanks from MotoX183 and Trackmaniak
