Termignoni Bust

After a very long and frustrating endeavor with the 4Uscite system I have opted to go the Akro direction.
I received an email from my distrubitor claiming Termignoni will not be releasing the map/tune until after September 1st.
Folks this kit made 0 mention of the map being delayed or not available. I assumed it was preloaded onto the upmap module. I never would have installed the exhaust rendering my bike unusable with out it. This however was just the final factor for me. There have are just too many imperfections and compromises made to have the sweet undertail exhaust IMO.
I am certain they will improve this kit over time, and it could be great. It is definately not at this time.
Additionally, the lack of correspondence from Termignoni on this has left me soured a bit toward them and likely prevent me from future consideration of their product. I realize I'm one customer and insignificant, but $5k is allot of coin to me and a significant purchase. I believe some clear communication would have gone a long way.
I hope this information helps someone avoid the dozens of hours I have wasted.
I am installing the Akro "full Ti" system this week. I have looked at the kit and it already apppears far superior in finish quality. The lower fairing pieces look OEM. I will post new thread with more thoughts on the Akro.
Thanks from gnance, Nitrouz, Briese and 2 others

Bummer experience, I was such a huge termi fan and had multiple bikes with full systems. Of course they were expensive but that was when they worked with ducati and built top of the line performance boosting exhausts with and amazing sound. Plus they are italian with an amazing logo, nothing complimented the bike better, but things change. When I got a 959 and realized I had only really one option exhaust wise I was a little perplexed. It literally pained me to put that constructivist AKRA logo on my bike! But here again new have a outside manufacturer working with the factory on a phenomenal product. I couldn't be happier.

wasn't interested after a vendor told me the Termi is not completely Ti. They claim to make a full Ti version at some point but that's even more disappointing.

Termis always seek subpar in fit and finish compared to akra

From my understanding... The Akrapovic doesn't come with an upmap(USB). I think the upmap needs to be uploaded to the Ducati shop computer and then upload to the bike.

I got my Speciale with the Akrapovic and the shop told me the bike already comes with the Akrapovic map in the ECU and it's just a matter of activating it. Other bikes need to have the map uploaded as mentioned above.

That's what my dealer said.

I was told the same thing as I heard that Ducati needed to be contacted before installing the full system. The dealer told that the Speciale was good to go it just needed to be activated.

On a side note my brother was talking with Carline Dunn (Pikes Peak winner) who spent dome time with the engineers at WDW. They stated that the V4 motor was developed specifically with the Akra full system only. How much of that is hype I don’t know.

Yes it was^^^
I think some people do not understand that Ducati only works with one company to share proprietary engineering information during the development stages of a bike, that is akrapovic. It used to be termi, and that was when there product was great. Everyone else waits until a bike comes out then they cobble together their own exhaust design, then figure out a way t make the engine work correctly with it. That is why in my mind even tho the money is outrageous, it is better spent on akra. It doesnt make any sense to spend slightly less money for a system that has been after the fact with zero help from ducati.

I'm told they're using the Termi in the Italian Championship and WSSTK. Is that accurate? If so...how are they optimizing it if Termi hasn't released a tune yet? Dyno tunes (which would be a better option anyway)?

They use a series of custom maps in all racing series for the most part.

From what I understand... In the case of race teams they develop their own tunes. They usually don't rely on manufacturer tunes because of different variables.

Yes... A dyno tune would be optimal. Especially for street bikes.
