Akrapovic Vs Termignoni

I have installed both exhausts. I was a big fan of the Moto GP ish look of the undertail exit. I also am a first time Ducati owner and have always thought Termignoni was the exhaust to have. Let me explain I have no interest in either brand other than to share my experience and opinion.
The fit, finish, and quality in appearance up close of the Akrapovic is far superior. The details seem to have been obsessed over. Everything lined up perfectly, like it was designed by Ducati as OE. The instructions are super clear and helpful. Everything fit without modification.
I hope this helps someone. My first experience with Termignoni will be my last. IMO the release of theTermi is a blunder at this point and they would have been better served waiting until it was refined. I wish I could have all my time, energy, and effort back to direct at something else.
Thats my 2 cents.

Had a similar experience with Termi. Have Akros on a few of my other bikes and agree 100% that it’s a superior product by some margin.
Having said that there are other really good makes which are close to the Akro.
But for the v4 the akro is the best fit & finish imho.
But to each his own I quest.

Agreed. My 2013 1199R came with full Termi's. I sold them cheap for the full Akras, before Ducati started going with Akra as the appointed aftermarket exhaust manufacturer. It was lighter, better welds, better fitment, and just overall better quality. Unless Termi's come out with something completely out of this world in regards to design and quality, I will never do Termi's again.

No comparison for me as I had the Akrapovic installed on my V4S before it was delivered to me. It is well designed, but very pricey. That they have there own titanium foundry is quite impressive.

I have a Speciale... Obviously with the Akrapovic and I think it's an awesome exhaust. Reading all the bad reviews about the Termi for the V4 seems like it's not even an option for most people, at least at the moment. I never liked the design anyways.

But I think the problem is specific to the V4 exhaust (maybe due to rushing it out to the market too soon?). I've had Termignoni pretty much on all my Ducatis and never had any problems. The upmaps weren't perfect but did their job and I was pretty satisfied. Most other current Ducati models are developed with Termignoni still. I'm not sure if that will be phased out eventually to be replaced by Akrapovic but Termignoni in current Ducati catalogs work really well for a factory catalog option.

Let's hope that it's a one off problem with the V4 model. I would hate to see it become a pattern for such a prestigious brand.

Termi has been trash since 2012 when the Panigale was introduced. Hideous welds, cheaply made when compared to Akra and the sound was trash. The reputation of Termi exhausts on a Ducati disappeared when the 1198's were phased out. Last of the "known" Ducati sound.

i got rid of the akra exhust on my hp4 for sc project. so i have or had sc project, graves, akra, termi, two brothers, and yoshimura.

hands down sc project is the best exhaust. all ti cheaper, than akra, just as good quality as akra, and superior sound.

SC doesnt make anything for the V4 so that is out.

But 8000 for a full system is out of the question. ducati is having problems selling these exhausts i wonder why

so the R will come with it and you will be forced to pay up and the bike will be 49,999 a big fail.

SC does make exhausts for the V4, there's 2 different versions.

They also have a 2 exit version but I think that looks terrible.

If Ducati wants to use the R model to race WSB series, it can't cost more than 40.000,00 €uros retail price, in order to follow the WSB rules. For the STK 1.000 series it can't exceed the 30.000,00 €uros price.
